Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Be Proactive - Take initiative in life by realizing that your decisions (and how they align with life's principles) are the primary determining factor for effectiveness in your life.
Begin with the End in Mind - Define your mission and goals in life. Develop a clear vision of where you want to go and what you want to achieve.
Put First Things First - Prioritize, plan, and execute your week's tasks based on importance rather than urgency. Evaluate whether your efforts exemplify your desired character values, propel you toward goals, and enrich the roles and relationships that were prioritized in Habit 2.
Think Win-Win - Seek mutual benefit in all interactions. Value and respect the contributions of all parties, understand and embrace divergent perspectives, and create synergy.
Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood - Listen empathically to others, concentrating on their true message, acknowledge their emotions, and recognize their point of view. You will improve the amount of correct information received, reduce the possibility of misunderstandings, and build rapport and trust among others.
Synergize - Combine the strengths of people through positive teamwork, so as to achieve goals that no one could have done alone.
Sharpen the Saw - Renew yourself physically, socially/emotionally, mentally, and spiritually regularly. At times, the other six practices will be challenged by practicing this "self-care."
