  5. The way complex adaptive systems work, and the way mental constructs work, problems frequently become easier to solve through inversion.
  6. Avoid extremely intense ideology because it cabbages up one’s mind.
  7. Generally speaking, envy, resentment, revenge and self-pity are disastrous modes of thought.
  8. Avoid perverse incentives and associations.
  9. Incorporate checklist routines. They prevent a lot of errors and not just for pilots.
  10. Maximizing non-egality will often work wonders.
  11. Intense interest in any subject is indispensable if you are really going to excel in it.
  12. Have a lot of assiduity.. sit down on your ass until you do it.
  13. Life is very likely to provide terrible blows unfair blows, some people recover and others don’t.
